- Type a country’s name. It counts as soon as it matches and turns green on the map; a country under another letter clears the box, with a note saying which letter it is under.
- Pause whenever you like. When the time is up, the lists below the map show what you named and what you missed.
About the countries that start with U
U has 7 countries: 1 in Africa, 2 in Asia, 2 in Europe, 1 in North America and 1 in South America. Oceania is the only continent without one. Common short forms count, so you needn’t type the longest names in full.

The United States is the largest and the most populous; the United Arab Emirates is the smallest. With the United Kingdom, they are the three “United”s, and “USA”, “UK” and “UAE” all count. Ukraine is the largest country entirely in Europe. Uzbekistan is one of only two doubly landlocked countries. Uruguay is in South America and Uganda in East Africa.

A country is under the first letter of the name used on this site, ignoring accents. The two Congos are both under C, where most lists put them. Territories and dependencies aren’t answers, and land outside the quiz is shown in a lighter shade.
Spelling: capitals, accents, spaces and punctuation don’t matter, and well-known alternative names count.
The accepted alternative names appear here when your quiz ends, so they don’t give any answers away.
