- Press Start. You have 2 minutes for all 11 countries.
- Type a country’s name. It counts as soon as it matches and turns green on the map; a country under another letter clears the box, with a note saying which letter it is under.
- Pause whenever you like. When the time is up, the lists below the map show what you named and what you missed.
About the countries that start with G
G has 11 countries: 5 in Africa, 1 in Asia, 2 in Europe, 2 in North America and 1 in South America. Oceania has none. West Africa is a good place to start.

Germany is the largest and the most populous; Grenada, in the Caribbean, is the smallest. Guinea and Guinea-Bissau are neighbours; Equatorial Guinea and Papua New Guinea, the other two Guineas, are under E and P. The Gambia is the smallest country on mainland Africa, and Guyana is the only South American country with English as its official language. Georgia counts in Asia here but also in the Europe quiz.
Which countries count
A country is under the first letter of the name used on this site, ignoring accents. The two Congos are both under C, where most lists put them. Territories and dependencies aren’t answers, and land outside the quiz is shown in a lighter shade.
Spelling: capitals, accents, spaces and punctuation don’t matter, and well-known alternative names count.
The accepted alternative names appear here when your quiz ends, so they don’t give any answers away.
